The Sound edition is exclusive to the Topline 1.0 TSI trim of the Virtus.
In the season of festivities, Volkswagen has unveiled yet another limited edition of its premium midsize sedan, Virtus. The manual and automatic variants of the new Sound edition cost Rs 15.5 lakh and Rs 16.77 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
The Sound edition is equipped with the Digital Sound Package for an exhilarating audio experience, the carmaker claimed. A seven-speaker setup with the subwoofer-amplifier combination takes the entire experience several notches above. The interior also gets first-in-segment twin electric seats for the driver and passenger, allowing you to choose the best position with a flick of a switch. All this along with over 40 safety features, an electric sunroof, a digital cockpit, a 25.65 cm VW Play infotainment system, puddle lamps and much more.
The Virtus’ exterior is adorned with a Sound edition badge on the rear doors and the C-pillar, which also gets equalizer graphics, making its mission statement clear. Four new paint schemes are available courtesy of the edition: Lava Blue, Carbon Steel Grey, Rising Blue and Wild Cherry Red.
Notably, the mechanical bits remain unchanged. It comes with the 1.0-litre TSI engine which belts out 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Its rivals are the Škoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
